The Biological Safety Division (BSD) supports the University’s teaching, research, and patient care missions by administering the Institutional Biological & Chemical Safety Committee (IBC); managing the clinic safety program for Washington University-affiliated ambulatory care providers; and providing consultative services to faculty, staff, and students regarding how to safely work with biological materials.  The BSD also serves as a compliance office for local, state, and federal policies and regulations related to use of biological materials in research.
