  • Institutional Biological & Chemical (IBC) Safety Committee
    • The Institutional Biological & Chemical (IBC) Safety Committee is responsible for ensuring that research carried out at WUSTL is conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
      The IBC oversees research involving recombinant DNA, infectious or potentially infectious agents, and/or hazardous chemicals.
  • Laser Safety Committee
  • Radiation Safety Committee
    • The Radiation Safety Committee has authority over all uses of ionizing radiation from radioactive materials at our institution except for the review of human research involving radioactive drugs.
  • Radiation Safety Subcommittees
    • The Authorizations Subcommittee meets regularly to review applications submitted by faculty.
    • The Cyclotron Safety Subcommittee meets several times a year to review radiation safety matters associated with the use of the four particle accelerators used for the on-site production of radioactive materials.
    • The ICP Subcommittee meets regularly to review radiation safety matters associated with the use of category 1 and category 2 quantities of radioactive materials.
